Annie is a School Psychologist who currently counsels adolescents with severe emotional and academic problems, who attend a specialized learning center. Previously she worked eighteen years in alternative education counseling students who had been singled out as disruptive and deemed unsuccessful in their neighborhood schools. Her years of experience and ability to connect with these students continue to be a very rewarding experience despite the challenges she is presented with. She loves the field of Education and she strives to make a positive impact on the lives of the students she works with.
Annie is a devoted mother and daughter who makes sure everyone is taken care of and has always played by the book. She admits to being a control freak who worries too much about her two children. Though her compulsive nature and Cuban-Catholic guilt have kept her close to home, after 24 years of marriage Annie has ventured into the single world. She never expected to be single at this stage of her life, but she is taking dating advice from her daughter who is 21 and her son keeps on eye on her curfew. Annie admits to forgetting about her needs in the past but is now making time for herself without feeling guilty. She is actually a much happier person now.
